“ I got my start in the restaurant industry working at Mexicali Rosas some 25 years ago in Oakville, ON. This was my first time at a Mexi's in over 20 years and it was fantastic. I was really craving a Chimichanga as I had just watched the new Deadpool film, but unfortunately for me they now have mushrooms in them, and I'm a little finicky when it comes to mushrooms, but hey, that's on me. I asked the fella that greeted me if they could do an order without, but he politely said no, which I understood as I know that they get prepped before opening. Anyway, had to zip over to Costco to do some stuff, and could have gone with a 1.50 hot dog and pop, but said "nah, I want something wicked good", and headed back to Mexi's. Same fella recognized me and welcomed me back, got a nice comfy booth, and ordered an ice cold Sol (WAY better than Corona BTW). Loved that you still do the comp chips and salsa, chips were seasoned nice and even, salsa was fresh didn't have too much cilantro, which can overpower. Ordered the Clyde but got it with the Arroz sauce over the red sauce. Everything tasted the way I remembered it from over two decades ago, right down to the shredded beef and the beans. Sorry I didn't get the name of the guy that both greeted and served me, but he was super-friendly and accommodating. I was there around 4-5. I live in Bridgewater and come up every 2 weeks or so, would I be able to pre-order the Chimichanga entree without the mushrooms in advance? Along with the tamales & chili relleno, the chimis were my favourite thing. ”

“ It was our first time visiting Mexi’s at this location and we had a great experience. Adam T delivered awesome service and the food was fantastic. Prices may seem a bit high on the menu until you see how much food you get. LOTS of protein, big chunks of chicken on the nachos where some places you have to look for it. I loved how you got to choose between corn or flour tortillas for the fajitas and the taste of the chicken was super fresh. The green sauce on the nachos had a bit of heat to it and it was very good. The only suggestion I have to enhance the dining experience would be to turn the bright lights down at the bar. They were shining brightly into my eyes the whole time we were there and that wasn’t comfortable. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our night out at Mexi’s Halifax and will return soon. ”
